Send a Reachdesk Gift from Gmail

  • Updated

Send a Reachdesk gift directly from Gmail by using the Reachdesk button in the email formatting toolbar to insert a unique link into your email. To use this feature, you must install the Reachdesk Chrome Extension.

Set up the Reachdesk Chrome Extension for Gmail

If you already have the extension installed, you may need to refresh it to enable the Gmail integration.

Option 1: Reinstall the extension

Uninstall and then reinstall the Reachdesk Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Option 2: Restart Chrome

  1. Quit Chrome completely, then reopen it.

  2. If you see a "Reachdesk is disabled" message in the top-right corner, click it.Screenshot 2023-10-11 at 16.07.44.png

  3. Accept the updated permissions to allow Reachdesk to work within Gmail.Screenshot 2023-10-11 at 16.08.06.png

Note: If the prompt doesn't appear, go to chrome://extensions, find Reachdesk, and ensure "Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit" is set to On all sites.

Use Reachdesk in Gmail

  1. Open Gmail and click Compose.

  2. Look for the Reachdesk icon in the formatting toolbar (at the bottom of the compose window, next to the "Send" button).

  3. Select your campaign from the pop-up menu.

  4. The extension will generate a unique gift link and insert it directly into your email body.

How it works

When you send a gift through Gmail using the Chrome extension, Reachdesk automatically tracks the interaction. This activity — including when the link is clicked and the gift is claimed — is logged in Reachdesk and synced to your CRM (Salesforce, Outreach, etc.) if your integration is active.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be logged into Reachdesk?

Yes. If you aren't logged in, clicking the Reachdesk icon in Gmail will prompt you to sign in to your Reachdesk account first.

Why is the Reachdesk button not appearing in Gmail?

Ensure the extension is enabled. If it still doesn't appear, try refreshing your Gmail tab or restarting Chrome. Check your chrome://extensions settings to ensure Reachdesk has permission to access mail.google.com.

Why am I being asked to accept new permissions?

Reachdesk may require updated permissions to write to Gmail. When prompted, accept the new permissions to continue using the integration. This prompt should only appear once.
