Managing your Chrome Extension Permissions

  • Updated

Overview

Use the steps below to control which websites the Reachdesk Chrome Extension can access. This is useful if you don’t want Reachdesk enabled across every supported platform.

Before you start

  • You must have the Reachdesk Chrome Extension installed in Google Chrome.

  • You need permission to manage extensions in your Chrome profile.

Steps

Open the Reachdesk extension settings

Use one of the methods below:

Option 1: From the Chrome toolbar

  1. In Chrome, locate the Reachdesk extension icon in your toolbar.

  2. Right-click the Reachdesk icon.

  3. Select Manage Extension.

  4. On the extension page, select Details (if it is not already open by default).

Option 2: From the Chrome Extensions page

  1. In Chrome, open chrome://extensions.

  2. Find the Reachdesk extension.

  3. Click Details.

Restrict which sites Reachdesk can access

  1. In the Reachdesk extension Details page, find the setting Automatically allow access on the following sites.

  2. If the toggle is On, switch it Off.

  3. A list of individual sites will appear. Turn On only the specific site toggles you want Reachdesk to access (and keep the rest Off).

Reachdesk will only have access to the specific sites you left enabled.

Troubleshooting

If you can’t change the toggle settings, your Chrome profile may be managed by your organization. If settings are greyed out or show a "managed" icon, please contact your IT admin for assistance.
