Use the Reachdesk app in Outreach
Send a gift from an Outreach email
Before you start:
You can use the Reachdesk app only when sending an email to a specific contact (1-to-1).
The app is not available while editing an email step in a sequence. If you need to send gifts via sequences, please see Generate a gift link for multiple use via Outreach sequence emails.
Step 1: Open an email to a contact
When composing an individual email in Outreach, the Reachdesk app button appears at the bottom of the email composer.
Step 2: Add the recipient email
-
Add the recipient’s email address in the To field.
Note: If the To field contains multiple email addresses, Reachdesk will only use the first email address listed to generate the gift.
Ensure you are logged in to Reachdesk via the app window.
Step 3: Generate a gift link
Click the Reachdesk button.
Review the contact details and choose your gift/campaign.
Generate the gift link.
Note: Once generated, the raw gift URL will be automatically inserted into the body of your email. Reachdesk does not automatically hyperlink specific text (e.g., "Click here"). If you want the link to be masked behind text, you will need to manually highlight your text and link it using the Outreach composer tools.
Track Reachdesk gift activity in Outreach
Reachdesk writes gift interactions back to the recipient’s activity feed in Outreach as a custom event.
A new event is created each time the gift status changes.
Event details shown in Outreach
Each Reachdesk event can include:
Date gift was sent
Gift status
Recipient Name
Campaign Name for the gift sent to the recipient
Cost — shown as pending until the gift is claimed
Automate follow-ups based on gift activity
Because Reachdesk gift activity creates events in Outreach, you can use those events to automate follow-ups and next steps. Read more about this in our Automate next steps in Outreach based on Reachdesk gifting activity article.
