To help you maximize cost savings on fulfillment, reduce excess inventory, and simplify stock management, we offer bundling, kitting and merging services. By grouping multiple units into a single, easy-to-manage SKU, you’ll benefit from faster processing, more accurate order handling, and fewer individual inventory lines to track.
Please note that if new items come in that are not prebundled, prekitted or premerged, please flag to your CSM or Support to raise a new project for those skus.
Bundling: Grouping Identical Items
What is Bundling and When Should I Use It?
Bundling skus is an optimal way to have identical skus anticipated to be used in large quantities at the lowest cost possible. The table below provides common examples of products and their preferred bundling quantity ranges. This list is not exhaustive—if your item isn’t listed, please contact our team to determine the appropriate bundling guidelines.
Our warehouses charge per quantity pick so best to minimize the number of picks when possible.
Example:
-
Bundled SKU cost - 1 pack of 100 stickers - $4.40 USD to fulfill at our US WH.
-
Individual Units - 100 stickers - $63.80 USD to fulfill at our US WH.

-

The total quantity should match the number of packs, not the total units. In the below example, 100 books are being bundled into packs of 10.
-
SKU Name: “PACK of 10 - Red New Hire Books” and Qty: 10, not 100.
-
-

Kitting: Creating Custom Gift Sets
What is Kitting?
Kitting is when you combine several different items into a single, ready-to-ship gift set. The final assembled gift set is called a kit and is treated as a new, single product (SKU) in your inventory. This is perfect to ensure gifts that require complex packaging instructions go out correctly. This is not a free service included with our events package.
How Do I Get Reachdesk to Kit My SKUs?
Reach out to your CSM to partner you with our Client Logistics Manager - we will take it from there! In essence, what they will do is
-
Create the kit sku (if not already present) and an SN with the different skus you want kitted.
-
Use this naming convention: KIT - Y (Brief description of goods in kit i.e. Red New Hire Books, stickers in Blue Gift box.
-
-
The total quantity will match the number of kits, not the total units. In the below example, 10 books, 20 stickers, and 10 boxes are being kitted.
-
SKU Name: KIT - New Hire Book, stickers and Qty: 10, not 40.
-
-
Raise a ticket (support@reachdesk.com) with detailed instructions of how they are to be packed.
- Confirm when work is complete and wallet is charged.
Sending Pre-Kitted Items
If your supplier is sending items that are pre-kitted (different items already assembled into the final gift sets before arriving at our warehouse), here’s how to make sure they are received correctly:
- Create a Ship Notice for the incoming shipment, following this convention:
- Name: KIT - Item Name
- Quantity: Number of kits arriving, not the total number of individual items inside them.
- If you have any concerns that the vendor might not have assembled the kits correctly, please raise a ticket to support@reachdesk.com. We're happy to help check them upon arrival! Please note that if goods arrive prekitted, we do not open kits and assume the item is okay to receive as is.
SKU Merging: Combining identical skus under one SKU name
What is SKU merging?
Have the same SKU taking up multiple RD SKU counts at a warehouse? SKU merging is your solution. I.e. I have 2 black hats at the EU warehouse with the same branding taking up two sku counts that are stored as individual units. This is not a free service included with our events package.
What should SKU merging not be used for?
If you have SKUs that have different branding, sizes, colors, etc. They cannot be merged together for quality control purposes. Different skus can be combined if kitted or bundled into multipacks.
How do I get this done?
Request to support using this template. - Please merge SKU X with SKU Y in warehouse Z.
Support will take care of raising an SN to get this done and will confirm when completed. This will be charged at an hourly rate.
