After you have connected Reachdesk with Marketo, you can use the Marketo webhook to push a custom variable from Marketo to a Reachdesk field. This is useful if you want to push any custom data, such as custom gift notes and use this when generating the emails or gift notes in Reachdesk.
Which campaigns can I use the custom variable from Marketo?
This will only work if you have:
- a triggered campaign with a Marketo sending user and
- "Send gift automatically via integration" is enabled in "Send settings"
How do I map the custom variable from Marketo to a Reachdesk field?
- Follow the steps here for connecting with Reachdesk and creating a webhook.
- In your webhook, specify the Marketo field you want to map against the "customGiftData" field. For example, if you want to map a custom gift note from your Lead object, you can do the following:
"customGiftData": {{lead.gift_note}}
How do I use the custom variable from Marketo in a Reachdesk triggered campaign?
- Go to a triggered campaign connected with a Marketo user.
- Ensure you have "send gift automatically via integration" setup in your "Send settings"
- Go to any field input on the page, for example, the email body or the gift note if you are sending a Marketplace gift.
- If you click on the "{ }," you will see "Custom Gift Data" as an option under "Marketo webhook only." You can add this as a variable in the text input.
5. When the gift send is created, we will use the value of the field from Marketo for the gift recipient.
Note: If the Custom Gift data variable is used in any other campaign that is not using a Marketo sending user and where "send gift automatically via integration" is not selected, or if the Custom Gift data variable is not mapped correctly in the Marketo webhook, the field will be empty when a gift send is created.
