Reachdesk’s integration with Gong helps Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams track gifting activity in Gong and send a gift directly from a Gong email. You can view gifting interactions against a Gong account or person and follow gifting milestones throughout the deal lifecycle.
Connect Reachdesk with Gong
Before you start
To install Reachdesk in Gong, you must:
Be a Gong technical administrator
Have a Reachdesk account
Install the Reachdesk app from Reachdesk
Log in to Reachdesk.
Go to Account > Integrations > External Apps.
Locate Gong and click Install on Gong.
Install the Reachdesk app from Gong
If you are not logged in to Reachdesk, you can install the app from the Gong integrations page.
Open the Reachdesk app listing in Gong.
Click Connect.
Log in to your Reachdesk account when prompted.
Approve Gong permissions
After you connect Reachdesk, Gong asks you to approve the app installation.
Review the requested permission to Create a new Digital Interaction in Gong.
Click Allow to continue. Reachdesk requires this permission to sync gifting activities into Gong.
Confirm the connection
After installation, Gong shows a success screen to confirm the integration is active.
Send a gift from a Gong email
This workflow is only available if you have Gong Engage.
Create the email in Gong
Log in to Gong.
Go to Engage > People.
Search for the person you want to email.
Click Write email to open the email editor.
Open Reachdesk from the email editor
In the email editor, click the Integrations icon in the bottom-right corner.
Select Reachdesk.
The Reachdesk app opens in a modal. If you are not already logged in, log in to your Reachdesk account.
Generate the gift link
Follow the Reachdesk steps to create the gift.
On the Review step, click Generate link.
Send the email
After the link is generated, Reachdesk automatically inserts it into the email body as Get your gift!
Review the email content.
Update the copy if needed.
Send the email to your Gong contact.
After you send the email, the contact’s activity feed in Gong shows that the gift was sent.
Sync gift activities from Reachdesk to Gong
Gift statuses that sync to Gong
After Reachdesk is integrated with Gong, Gong creates an activity when the gift reaches one of these statuses:
Sent
Opened
Clicked
Claimed
Address confirmed
Delivered
When gift activities sync
Gift activity only syncs for gifts that move to one of the statuses above after Reachdesk is integrated with Gong.
Reachdesk does not sync gift activities for gifts that were already Claimed before the integration was installed.
Gift activities can still sync for gifts sent outside Gong, as long as the recipient email or domain matches a Gong contact or account.
How Reachdesk matches activity in Gong
Reachdesk syncs gift activity based on the recipient details:
If the recipient email matches a Gong person, the activity syncs to that Gong person. This can be a contact or lead.
If the recipient email domain matches the website domain on a Gong account, the activity syncs to that Gong account.
View gift activity in Gong
View activity from Deals without Gong Engage
If you do not have access to Gong Engage:
Go to Deals.
Search for the account.
Open the timeline view to see gift activities and more detail for each activity.
View activity from People with Gong Engage
If you have access to Gong Engage:
Go to Engage > People.
Search for the person.
View their gifting activity.
View activity from Accounts with Gong Engage
If you have access to Gong Engage:
Go to Engage > Accounts.
Search for the Account name.
View the gifting activity for that account.
Gift activity details shown in Gong
Gift activity in Gong includes details about the gift, even if the gift was not sent from Gong.
You can use the source field to confirm where the gift was sent from.
Clicking View more info redirects you to the send page in Reachdesk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need Gong Engage to use the Reachdesk integration?
No. You can connect Reachdesk with Gong without Gong Engage. You only need Gong Engage to send a gift directly from a Gong email and to view activity in Engage pages such as People and Accounts.
Can I send a gift from a Gong email without Gong Engage?
No. Sending a gift from a Gong email is only possible with Gong Engage.
Why can't I see any campaigns in the Gong modal?
If the Reachdesk modal is empty, ensure your Reachdesk user has been granted access to a budget/wallet and that there are active campaigns available for your specific user role.
Will Reachdesk sync old gift activity into Gong?
No. Reachdesk only syncs gift activity when a gift changes to a supported status after the integration is installed.
Will gifts sent outside Gong still sync to Gong?
Yes. Gifts sent outside Gong can still sync if the recipient email matches a Gong person or the recipient domain matches a Gong account.
