Use Demandbase One audiences and Salesforce Campaign membership to trigger Reachdesk sends. This setup helps you automate sends to the right people at the right accounts based on Demandbase One audience criteria.
Prerequisites
You’ll need the following before you begin:
Demandbase One Orchestration
Salesforce CRM
The Add to SFDC Campaign automation action enabled in Demandbase One
How this setup works
Create a Salesforce Campaign.
Build an Automated Campaign in Reachdesk that triggers when someone is added to that Salesforce campaign.
Create a Demandbase One Automation that adds matching people to that Salesforce campaign.
When people meet the Demandbase One audience criteria, Reachdesk triggers the eGift, Marketplace, or Bundle send.
Set up the Reachdesk Automated Campaign
Step 1: Create the Salesforce campaign
Create the Salesforce Campaign that Demandbase One will add people to. This campaign acts as the bridge to trigger the Reachdesk send.
Step 2: Create an Automated Campaign in Reachdesk
In Reachdesk, navigate to Automated Campaigns > New Automated Campaign. Select the type of campaign you want to send (e.g., eGift, Marketplace, or Bundle).
Step 3: Build the Reachdesk campaign
Choose the items you want to send and complete the standard campaign setup.
Step 4: Select the Salesforce campaign for sync updates
Choose the Salesforce Campaign where Reachdesk should sync activity updates.
Tip: We recommend including "Reachdesk" and "Demandbase" in the campaign title to make your reporting easier to find later.
Step 5: Map campaign statuses
Map your campaign statuses in Reachdesk. This ensures that gift milestones are reflected correctly on the Salesforce Campaign Member record.
Step 6: Set the trigger in Reachdesk
This is the most important step for the integration to work. Set the trigger as follows:
Object: Campaign Member
Field 1 (Campaign ID): Paste the ID for the Salesforce campaign you created in Step 1.
Field 2 (Status): Enter the specific Campaign Member Status (e.g., "Member") that should trigger the send.
Retroactive Sends: Toggle "Send gift to anyone that already match the criteria above" to ON if you want to capture people already in the campaign, or leave it OFF to only trigger for new additions moving forward.
Approval: Choose whether to automatically approve sends or require manual review.
Save the campaign.
Set up the Demandbase One automation
Step 7: Create an automation in Demandbase One
In Demandbase One, create a new Automation. Define your Audience using your desired criteria (e.g., Executives at accounts in the MQA journey stage for less than 2 days with no open opportunities).
Step 8: Add an action
Add a new action to your automation.
Step 9: Select the action type
Choose Add to SFDC Campaign. This is the orchestration point that communicates with Reachdesk.
Step 10: Choose the Salesforce campaign
Select the same Salesforce Campaign ID you used in the Reachdesk setup (Step 6).
Step 11: Choose the Salesforce campaign membership status
Select the SFDC Campaign Membership Status that matches the status you configured in Reachdesk.
Note: These must match exactly (e.g., if Reachdesk is looking for "Member", Demandbase must assign the status "Member").
Schedule the Demandbase One automation
Step 12: Choose the automation cadence
Choose how often the Demandbase One automation should run. This controls when new contacts are added to the Salesforce campaign and subsequently triggered in Reachdesk.
Automation Run Type:
Once
Pre-scheduled Run
Recurring
Automation Review Cadence (for recurring automations):
Hourly
Daily
Weekly
Monthly
Repeat Cycle:
Repeat every X cycles (hours, days, or weeks).
Excluded Days:
Exclude specific days such as holidays or weekends.
Save the automation. Once people match your audience criteria, they will be added to the Salesforce campaign, and Reachdesk sends will be triggered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the "Add to SFDC Campaign" action required?
It acts as the hand-off. Demandbase identifies the right people, adds them to the Salesforce campaign, and Reachdesk "watches" that campaign to know when to send a gift.
What object and fields should I use for the Reachdesk trigger?
Use the Campaign Member object. You must define both the Campaign ID and the Status.
Can I include people who are already in the Salesforce campaign?
Yes. In Step 6, ensure the toggle "Send gift to anyone that already match the criteria above" is turned ON.
Can Reachdesk sync send and delivery updates back to Salesforce?
Yes, as long as you have mapped the statuses in Step 5 and selected the correct campaign for sync updates in Step 4.
Which Demandbase One data can I use to build the audience?
You can use any data available in Demandbase One, such as job seniority, intent scores, or journey stage timing.
