Understand Your Integration Model
Before you start tracking, it’s important to know which Salesloft integration you’re using, as this changes how you build your cadences:
Model 1: Salesloft App (Recommended): You’ll use a native Reachdesk step type within your cadences.
Model 2: Chrome Extension: You’ll use an Other step type to prompt your team to send via the Reachdesk Chrome extension.
Tracking Engagement in Salesloft
Reachdesk sends triggered from a Salesloft cadence are tracked at both the person level and the cadence level.
Track Activity on a Person Record
Once a Reachdesk task is executed, the activity appears on the person’s record in Salesloft. This allows you to see eGift activity like whether the recipient opened, clicked, or claimed the send.
Note on Dynamic Links: If you are using Dynamic Links within Salesloft email templates, Reachdesk only begins tracking once the recipient clicks the link. "Sent" and "Opened" statuses for these emails should be monitored via Salesloft’s native email reports.
Measure Performance at the Cadence Level
Use the cadence performance view in Salesloft to see a high-level view of how your steps are performing. This helps you isolate the impact of Reachdesk steps and compare their conversion rates against standard emails or phone calls.
Syncing Reachdesk Activity to Salesforce
The link between Salesloft activity and Salesforce ROI reporting relies on the Salesloft-to-Salesforce sync.
Enable Sync: Ensure your Salesloft-to-Salesforce sync is turned on so that cadence tasks appear as Tasks in Salesforce.
Naming Conventions: We strongly recommend a consistent naming convention for Reachdesk campaigns (e.g., Reachdesk - [Campaign Name]) to make it easier to filter your Salesforce reports later.
Build Salesforce ROI Reports
Since every CRM setup is unique, your report structure may vary. Here are the two most effective approaches:
Option 1: Activities with Opportunities Report
This is the most common method. Use the Activities with Opportunities report type in Salesforce.
This works when tasks and opportunities are both assigned to the same contact or account.
Filter the report by your Reachdesk naming convention to see which sends are associated with open or closed-won revenue.
Option 2: Automate Salesforce Campaign Membership
For more advanced reporting, a Salesforce Admin can set up a Flow to automatically add a contact to a Salesforce Campaign when a Reachdesk-related task is created or completed.
This allows you to use Campaign Influence reports to see exactly how Reachdesk touches contributed to a deal.
This method is more flexible than task-only reporting and is better for long-term attribution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is a Reachdesk step added in a Salesloft cadence?
If using the Salesloft App, select the native Reachdesk step type. If using the Chrome Extension, add an Other step.
How do I see Reachdesk engagement in Salesloft?
Check the person’s activity feed. It will show "Reachdesk Engage Activity" including statuses like clicked and claimed.
Do Reachdesk tasks appear in Salesforce?
Yes, provided the Salesloft-to-Salesforce activity sync is enabled. Reachdesk logs the activity to Salesloft, and Salesloft pushes it to Salesforce.
