Use Require approval when you want an extra review step before a gift is sent. When this setting is enabled on a manual campaign, gift sends stay in a pending state until they're reviewed and approved.
Turn on approval for a manual campaign
At the campaign level, go to Send options and switch on Require approval.
After you enable this setting, any gifts sent from that campaign will remain pending until they’re approved on the Sends tab.
How approval works
When a Sender creates a gift send from a manual campaign with Require approval turned on:
The Send is marked as Pending
The Campaign Manager or Admin who created the campaign receives a daily email summary at 9 AM UTC
The approver can approve or reject the order directly from the Sends tab
Note: If an Admin or Campaign Manager sends from a campaign they created, the Send is approved automatically and won't require a review.
What happens after a decision is made
If the Send is rejected
No further action is required. The Sender isn't notified that the Send was rejected.
If the Send is approved
The next step depends on the gift type and delivery method.
Approved eGifts Sends
Reachdesk email: The email is processed and sent to the recipient immediately
Generate a link: The Sender receives an email with Get my link to retrieve the URL
Approved Bundle and Marketplace Sends
Address confirmation: The confirmation email is sent to the recipient immediately
Generate a link: The Sender receives an email with Get my link to retrieve the URL
Direct Send: The gift is sent immediately
Note: While approval triggers the next step, physical gifts are subject to a 30-minute security delay from the time of creation. If a send is approved within minutes of being created, the Address Confirmation email may stay in a 'Scheduled' state until that 30-minute window has passed.
