Reminder Emails for Gift Recipients

  • Updated

To maximize the redemption rate, Reachdesk can automatically send up to two follow-up emails to recipients who have not redeemed a gift.

Redemption has a direct impact on win rate. Opportunities where a gift has been redeemed are 1.44 times more likely to close as Closed Won. Turning on reminder emails increases the redemption rate by an average of 15%.

Which gift sends are eligible for reminder emails?

Reminder emails are sent for:

  • Bundle or Marketplace campaigns sent with an address confirmation email
  • eGift campaigns sent by email

Reminder emails are not sent if the gift was sent without address confirmation, or if it was shared using a link.

When are reminder emails sent?

If a recipient has not confirmed their address or claimed their eGift, Reachdesk resends the original email up to two more times, on day 2 and day 5, until the recipient claims the eGift or confirms their address.

To prevent recipients from receiving too many emails, the following limits apply:

  • At least two days between reminder emails
  • A maximum of two reminder emails per recipient
  • No reminder email is sent if less than 24 hours remain before the gift expires

What does a reminder email look like?

A reminder email uses the same copy as the original eGift or address confirmation email. Only the subject line and a banner at the top of the email change.

If more than 5 days remain before expiry:

  • Subject: [x] days left to claim: {{Subject line}}
  • Banner: Yellow, showing "[x] days until expiry. Claim it soon!"

If 5 days or fewer remain before expiry:

  • Subject: Last chance before it expires: {{Subject line}}
  • Banner: Red, showing "Last chance, claim now or it'll expire in [x] days!"

Note: Reachdesk does not currently support editing the reminder email copy or customizing the schedule on which reminder emails are sent.

How do I turn on reminder emails for a campaign?

Reminder emails can be turned on or off for each campaign. If this setting is not available in your account, contact your Customer Success Manager or contact Product Support.

For bundle, Marketplace, and eGift campaigns:

  1. Go to Claim options.
  2. Turn on Remind to claim gift to send reminder emails on the 2nd and 5th business day after the gift email is sent.

Do email template changes affect reminder emails for gifts already sent?

Updating the eGift or address confirmation email template on a campaign does not affect reminder emails for gifts that were already sent. Those reminder emails use the email template that was in place when the original gift email was sent.

Reminder emails for gifts sent after the campaign is updated use the new email template.
