Opening up these countries from the US is an exciting move forward, however it does present new challenges in both customs and restrictions on what we can send. Often with South American countries, foodstuffs, coffee, and clothing may need a permit to be sent.
It is imperative that all customs information is accurate and up to date- restricted items must not be sent and it is up to the client to ensure this expectation is met. Delays, refusals and extra costs can all occur at the expense of the sender if these conditions are not met. Each country has different duty rates on different items, which be found through the destination country customs tariff code. Please see
Here are the list of banned items across all countries
Prohibited:
- Alcohol
- Animals
- Chemicals
- Currency
- Drugs
- Explosives
- Firearms
