Use this setup when you want an eGift card in Reachdesk to be redeemed as a reward in Influitive.
This process has two parts:
Create the eGift card campaign in Reachdesk.
Create the reward in Influitive using the metadata from Reachdesk.
Create the e-gift card campaign in Reachdesk
Step 1: Open Automated Campaigns
In Reachdesk, go to Automated Campaigns.
Step 2: Create the e-gift card campaign
Create your eGift card campaign and include the default email template.
Step 3: Set gift activity sync
Under Sync gift activity, select an Integration User if you want to sync gift activity to your CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
Step 4: Select the Influitive connector
Under Campaign Automation, select your integrated Influitive connector from the dropdown.
Step 5: Copy the reward setup details
Once the connector is selected, a box labeled Reward Setup Instructions will appear. Copy the Provider and SKU values shown here; you will need them for the Influitive side of the setup.
Step 6: Choose the approval setting
Decide whether sends should be approved before they are sent. Use the Automatically approve all triggered sends toggle to turn automatic approval on or off.
Step 7: Save the campaign
Click Save to activate your Reachdesk campaign.
Create the reward in Influitive
Step 1: Add a new reward
In Influitive, go to Post-Approval > Rewards > Add a Reward. Choose Create from scratch.
Step 2: Configure fulfilment settings
Under Fulfilment, ensure Administrator Approval Required is unchecked. Note: Approvals are handled within Reachdesk to keep your workflow in one place.
Step 3: Choose the fulfilment type
Select Manual. This allows the Reachdesk integration to listen for the redemption and trigger the gift automatically.
Step 4: Add the reward details
Select Headline and complete the reward name and description. For Type, choose the option that best matches the reward, such as Gift Card.
Add the Reachdesk auto fulfilment data
Step 1: Paste the Provider and SKU values
In Influitive, find the Auto Fulfilment Data section. Paste the Provider and SKU values you copied from your Reachdesk campaign into the corresponding fields.
Step 2: Leave unused fields blank
Because Reachdesk handles the gift delivery email, you do not need to enter a Personal Message. The Type field in this section can also be left blank.
Finish the reward setup in Influitive
Step 1: Complete the reward details
Continue creating the reward as usual, including uploading an image for the reward icon.
Step 2: Set redeeming requirements
Go to the Redeeming tab.
Crucial: Ensure that "Require advocates to enter their shipping information when redeeming this reward" is unchecked. Since this is a digital e-gift card, no shipping address is required.
Step 3: Set eligibility rules
Go to the Eligibility tab and define which advocates can see and redeem this reward. Click Save to finish.
Test the reward
Your gift is now set up! When an advocate redeems the reward in Influitive:
Influitive sends the metadata to Reachdesk.
Reachdesk processes the send (and holds for approval if your campaign is set to manual approval).
Reachdesk sends the gift email to the advocate.
Reachdesk marks the reward as Fulfilled in Influitive once the advocate has claimed their gift card.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to enable administrator approval in Influitive?
No. Keep this unchecked in Influitive. If you want to review sends before they go out, use the Automatically approve all triggered sends toggle in the Reachdesk campaign settings instead.
Why shouldn't I require shipping information in Influitive?
Since Reachdesk delivers e-gift cards via email, asking for a physical shipping address creates unnecessary friction for the advocate and isn't used by the system.
What should I do if the Auto Fulfilment Data section is missing?
Email support@influitive.com and explicitly ask them to enable "Reward Metadata" for your hub.
When does the reward status change to "Fulfilled"?
The status updates automatically in Influitive as soon as the recipient clicks the link in their email and claims the gift card.
