Important Note: Reachdesk does not provide a dedicated Reachdesk sandbox environment for testing. You will need to test using your own Salesforce Sandbox environment.
Standard User Connection (OAuth)
In Reachdesk, go to Account > Integrations.
Locate Salesforce and click the Link Salesforce Account button.
You will be redirected to the Salesforce login page.
Log in to the correct Salesforce instance.
Approve the requested Reachdesk permissions.
You will be redirected back to Reachdesk, and the connection will be established.
(Pro-tip: If you are using SSO for Salesforce, please log in to Salesforce first—it makes the connection much easier to set up!)
Sandbox Connection
To connect to your Salesforce Sandbox instance:
Go to Account > Integrations.
Locate Salesforce and click Advanced Options.
Tick the box Connect to Sandbox Instance.
Click the Link Salesforce Account button. You will be redirected to your sandbox environment.
Log in to your sandbox Salesforce instance.
Approve the requested Reachdesk permissions.
You will be redirected back to Reachdesk, and the connection will be established.
(Pro-tip: If you have multiple sandbox instances, it's easier to log in to the correct one first and then link it to Reachdesk.)
Changing Your Integration User
When you need to replace your active Salesforce integration user (for example, migrating from an individual employee's email to a dedicated service account), you must follow a strict migration workflow to avoid breaking your live campaigns.
1. Set up a new user or service account first
Create a new user inside the Reachdesk platform under Organization > Users.
2. Test the New Connection
You should test the new integration user by connecting it to your Salesforce sandbox first.
We recommend creating a separate gift card campaign to run a quick test send.
3. Migrate the Live Connection
CRITICAL WARNING: You must not disconnect or deactivate your existing integration user in your live setup yet. Doing so will immediately break any active automated campaigns tied to that user.
The person managing the new integration email must log into Reachdesk, navigate to Account > Integrations, and authorize the new Salesforce connection.
Once the new user is successfully connected in the live environment, please email Reachdesk Support support@reachdesk.com (or your CSM) to request the migration.
Our team will then safely migrate all of your active campaigns over to the new integration user.
Only after our team confirms the campaign migration is 100% complete should you disconnect or deactivate your old integration user.
OAuth troubleshooting
If you run into an OAuth error during the connection process, please ask your Salesforce admin to:
Go to Salesforce Setup.
Navigate to Platform Tools > Apps > Connected Apps > Connected Apps OAuth Usage.
Find Reachdesk.
Select Install.
