Reachdesk MCP connects your Reachdesk account to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT, so you can look up gifting data and prepare sends by asking in plain language, without switching to a separate dashboard. This article explains what the connection can do, what each underlying tool can access, and the controls that stay in place around it.
If you haven't connected Reachdesk MCP yet, see "How to Connect with Reachdesk MCP" for setup steps.
Overview
Once connected, your AI assistant can read data from your Reachdesk account — campaigns, sends, wallet balances, and gift catalogs — and, when you ask it to, prepare a gift send for your review. It only has access to the data and actions your Reachdesk role already permits, and it never sends a gift without your confirmation.
Reachdesk MCP can also be used alongside other connected tools, such as Salesforce, Gong, or Slack, so the assistant can factor in CRM data, call notes, or team alerts when recommending or preparing a gift.
What you can use it for
- Get insights from your gifting data. Ask about spend, adoption, and performance across campaigns, regions, or time periods, and get an answer without building a report manually.
- Find, personalize and send gifts. Search for gifts in your list of available campaigns, and if you have a sender’s choice campaign, you can search the Reachdesk Marketplace or Amazon catalog, pick a gift within a campaign's rules, and prepare a personalized send for your approval.
- Combine signals from other connected tools. When other GTM tools, such as Salesforce, Gong, or Slack MCPs are also connected, the assistant can use deal data, call insights, or team alerts to inform what it recommends or prepares.
What each tool can access
Reachdesk MCP is made up of individual tools. Each one is either read-only (it can look up information but cannot change anything) or a write/delete tool (it can create or cancel a send). Your AI tool admin sets whether each tool runs automatically, asks you first, or is turned off entirely.
For each tool below, you will only have access to perform actions and view data that you have access to within your permissions and roles in Reachdesk.
| Tool | Type | What it does | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Get campaign details | Read-only | Retrieves the full details of one campaign by its ID — its budget, gift options, status, and templates. | Lets the assistant look up the specifics of a campaign when you're discussing or preparing a send from it. |
| Get send details | Read-only | Retrieves the full details of one send by its ID — recipient, cost, and delivery status. | Lets the assistant check on a specific gift you already sent, for example to answer "did that gift arrive?" |
| Get user details | Read-only | Returns your Reachdesk user profile, including which teams you belong to. | Confirms who you are in Reachdesk and which team budgets you're able to use. |
| List campaigns | Read-only | Returns your organization's campaigns, with filters for status, type, and whether they're automated or manual. | Lets the assistant find the right campaign to send from based on what you're asking for. |
| List sends | Read-only | Returns sends with filters for recipient, date range, cost, status, and campaign. | Powers reporting questions such as "show me sends from last quarter" or "which gifts are still pending." |
| Search Amazon products | Read-only | Searches Amazon's catalog for gift products by keyword, price range, and destination country. | Lets the assistant suggest specific Amazon items for campaigns that allow an open choice of product. |
| Search marketplace products | Read-only | Searches the Reachdesk Marketplace catalog the same way. | Lets the assistant suggest specific marketplace items for campaigns that allow an open choice of product. |
| Wallet balances | Read-only | Returns wallet balances for your user or team wallets, filterable by currency. | Lets the assistant check there's enough budget available before it prepares a send. |
| Send gift | Write | Prepares a gift send from a campaign to a recipient, then creates it once you confirm. | This is the only tool that spends budget or creates a real send. It always shows you a preview — recipient, gift, and cost — and waits for your explicit confirmation before anything goes out. |
| Cancel send | Write / Delete | Cancels a send that is still within Reachdesk's cancellation window. | Lets the assistant undo a send on your behalf, but only while cancellation is still allowed by the platform. |
Example use cases
The examples below provides you with some useful prompts to help you get started and take advantage of the Reachdesk MCP.
To get the best results, it recommended to use skills when you are using AI assistants. Reach out to your CSM to learn how to access our pre-built skills.
Triggering gifts from CRM updates (with Salesforce connected)
Example prompt: "Show me the opportunities that moved to Closed Won this month. Recommend a welcome gift for each and prepare the sends for my approval."
The assistant finds opportunities that moved to Closed Won in the chosen time frame, pulls the relevant contacts from Salesforce, recommends a gift based on the recipient and available budget, and prepares each send for your review.
Analyzing gifting performance
Example prompt: "Show me our current month gift spend, top-performing gifts, and adoption trends by team." or you can also say "Show my giting performance dashboard for this month." (if you have the reachdesk-gifting-dashboard skill).
The assistant pulls sends from the specified month, breaks down spend by team and campaign, and highlights which gifts drove the most engagement. You can ask it to reshape the view, such as diving deeper on a specific team with a follow-up prompt.
Monitoring gifting spend (with Slack connected)
Example prompt: "My quarterly budget for each team is $250. Send me a Slack message if there are teams that are over this budget, or are within 80% of reaching this budget. Confirm that you have sent the message in Slack when it is complete."
The assistant checks team spend against the quarterly budget, factors in how much time is left in the month, and prepares a Slack message if a threshold is crossed.
Measuring gifting ROI (with Salesforce connected)
Example prompt: "Compare our gifting ROI against closed-won deals this quarter, by campaign."
The assistant pulls gifting activity and spend from Reachdesk, matches sends to Salesforce opportunities and deal values, and calculates ROI by campaign.

Acting on call insights (with Gong connected)
Example prompt: "Review my recent Gong calls and find open opportunities where the prospect mentioned an upcoming priority or milestone. Recommend a relevant gift for the top three and prepare the sends for my approval."
The assistant reviews recent call transcripts for relevant priorities or milestones, prioritizes the top opportunities by deal value, recommends a gift from an eligible campaign, and prepares each send using the contact details already on file — with a final preview for you to review and approve.

Staying in control
- Your permissions don't change. The assistant can only see the data and take the actions your existing Reachdesk role already allows.
- Sends always require confirmation. Every gift send is a two-step process: a preview, then your explicit confirmation. Nothing is sent automatically.
- Sends can be cancelled. An eligible send can be cancelled within the platform's cancellation window, whether through the assistant or directly in Reachdesk.
- Tool access is configurable. Your Claude admin can set each tool to run automatically, ask before running, or be turned off, from the connector's tool permissions screen.
Frequently asked questions
What is Reachdesk MCP?
Reachdesk MCP lets you access gifting insights, prepare sends, and track performance directly from your AI assistant by connecting Reachdesk to it.
Which AI tools work with Reachdesk MCP?
Any AI platform that supports MCP. It has been tested specifically on Claude and ChatGPT.
Can Reachdesk MCP connect to Salesforce, Gong, or Slack?
Yes. Reachdesk MCP can work alongside any other MCP connector on the same AI platform, so the assistant can use data from your other connected tools when recommending or preparing a send.
Does Reachdesk MCP change my permissions?
No. You can only see the data and take the actions you already have access to in Reachdesk today.
Can the assistant send a gift without me checking it first?
No. Every send goes through a preview and requires your confirmation. You can also cancel an eligible send within the cancellation window.
What's the difference between a read-only tool and a write tool?
Read-only tools look up information and cannot change anything in your account. Write tools ("Send gift" and "Cancel send") can create or cancel a real send — these are the only two actions that affect your Reachdesk data, and "Send gift" always requires your confirmation before anything is sent.
