Shipping to Mexico

Guidelines to successful delivery

  • Tax ID always required. Every shipment needs the recipient's RFC or CURP, any value, no exceptions. Foreign nationals can use SSN, home-country Tax ID, or passport number instead.
  • Apparel cap: 20 units. Keep apparel/textile sends to 20 units or fewer unless the recipient is a registered textile importer. Used clothing is banned outright.
  • Consumables & skin-contact items need a health permit first. Water bottles, snacks, skincare, supplements, toothpaste, contact lenses, the recipient needs a Sanitary Authorization Permit (S.S.A.) before the shipment ships, or this will get delayed until the document is provided to customs.
  • Be specific on the product description. "Gift" or "bundle" gets shipments held or returned, use a real description (e.g. "cotton polo shirt").
  • Value thresholds: over $1,000 USD, the recipient needs PadrĂ³n de Importadores registration and over $2,500 USD, it's a full formal import with a licensed broker (Reachdesk/FedEx cannot clear for you).

How Reachdesk Helps

  • As soon as the Airway Bill (tracking link) becomes stuck in customs, Reachdesk proactively monitors the shipment in transit and attempts to resolve the issue on your behalf. If we are unable to do this, we may be in touch to facilitate the resolution and delivery of your orders.
  • Please be accurate with the address details used in the order, if a shipment address details are not accurate or up to date, this will cause delays to the delivery and possibly end in being returned or disposed.
