There are 2 different redemption types available to send via Reachdesk, Instant & Non-Instant. As a sender, the flow remains the same, the only difference is the timing of when the gift card code is delivered to the end recipient. Having both of these options allows us to have a greater reach globally! Below is a breakdown of the 2 redemption types.
Instant eGift Cards
Instant eGift Cards are the standard and make up majority of available brands. This is where the code will display instantaneously as a card is claimed.
A recipient will receive an initial email letting them know they have been sent a gift card, with a CTA to take them to the redemption page. Within the redemption page, the recipient can select from the gift cards available and choose to claim. At this point, the recipient will either be redirected to a URL holding the details of the code, or the code will display on the screen where they claimed.
These codes are ready to use right away.
Very occasionally, some instant eGift Cards go out of stock, in this scenario they will be delivered via the Non-Instant method.
Non-Instant eGift Cards
Non-Instant eGift Cards follow the same flow for Reachdesk users, from campaign setup, through to completing a send. The main difference is for the recipient, and when the code will get delivered. Non-Instant options make up a smaller percentage of brands available, but extend the catalog to a further 20+ currencies worldwide.
A recipient will receive the email as standard, offering them a gift card. Note that Instant and Non-Instant cards can be sent together within the same campaign. If the recipient chooses to claim a Non-Instant card, instead of the code details being provided instantly, they will be informed that they will receive an email in the coming days once the code is ready. Once the code is available, an email will be automatically triggered to the recipient letting them know that they can now complete their redemption. This email will be in the style and branding of your initial email with the offer. From here, they can follow a link to view their code. This will also be the same link from the original email.
The code will then display for them and will be ready to use right away!
