Send a manual campaign using Marketo recipient data
You can send gifts on a manual, 1-to-1 basis using lead data directly from your Marketo integration.
Prerequisites
Link your account: Integration connections are established on a per-user basis. Before you start, navigate to Account > Integrations and ensure your Marketo account is linked.
Active Campaign: Ensure the campaign you want to use is active and has Marketo enabled as an integration.
How it works
During the Send flow, you can pull lead data directly from Marketo. Reachdesk uses the email address provided to find the matching lead in Marketo and automatically populate their details.
Sync gift activity to a Marketo Program
You can track gift activity from manual campaigns back to a specific Marketo Program to keep your reporting in sync.
How it works
Within the campaign settings, you can connect your Reachdesk campaign to a Marketo Program. Once connected, Reachdesk maps gift statuses to your corresponding Marketo program statuses.
Important behavior to know
Email-Based Matching: Reachdesk looks for recipients in Marketo using their email address. For the status to sync, the recipient must already exist as a lead in your Marketo database.
No "Send via Marketo" Required: You don’t need to initiate the send from within Marketo for the status to sync back. As long as the campaign is synced to a program, Reachdesk will update the lead's status automatically as the gift progresses.
Landing Pages: When someone claims a gift via a landing page, Reachdesk will find their lead record in Marketo via their email and update their program status accordingly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to select Marketo in the send flow for status updates to sync back?
No. If the campaign itself is synced to a Marketo Program in the Integrations tab, Reachdesk will automatically look up the recipient by email and update their status, regardless of how the lead was originally added to the send.
How do I search for a recipient when sending manually?
After selecting Marketo from the integration dropdown in the Recipient step, you must search using the lead’s full email address.
Will this create new leads in Marketo?
No. Reachdesk updates existing leads. If a recipient does not exist in Marketo, Reachdesk cannot sync a status back to a program for them.
