Sending physical gifts from Reachdesk is really simple, but we do have a few considerations to take when adding addresses to send gifts. Please read below on our best practices for sending physical gifts so you do not run into shipping delays and potential cancellations.

1. We don't deliver gifts to PO boxes.
2. We only send bundle campaigns and stock shipments to countries our warehouse can ship to.
3. We only send marketplace campaigns to countries our vendors can ship to.

1. We don't deliver gifts to PO boxes.

Physical gifts can vary in size, and they will not fit in standard sized post office boxes. This is why we don't deliver bundle or marketplace gifts to any PO box address.

How do we prevent PO box sends? 

• Sending to a single recipient
• Sending to a multiple recipients
• Other types of sends (triggered, landing pages)
• Address confirmation page

Preventing PO Box sends for single recipients:

When sending a gift to a single recipient, if a user types PO box (or a similar variation) in Address Line 1 or 2, we will prevent the user from proceeding to the next step.

Preventing PO Box sends for multiple recipients:

When sending a gift using our bulk import process, if the user chooses the "Send it anyway" option and does not require address confirmation:

• If the first contact in the bulk import CSV has a PO box in Address Line 1 or 2, the user will see this error message below when they try to send the gifts.
• If the PO box address is in any other contact in the bulk import CSV (not the first), these will have a "pending" status when created.
• The PO box addresses should either be updated, or you can choose to send the gift via link or email with address confirmation.

Preventing PO Box sends for other types of sends:

When sending a gift using one the following ways:

• Via triggered campaign without address confirmation
• Via zapier or public API without address confirmation
• Via in-app landing pages

The gift will be created with a "pending" status. If you try to approve it, you will see the message below:

The PO box addresses should either be updated, or you can choose to send the gift via link or email with address confirmation.

Preventing PO Box addresses in the address confirmation page:

If the gift you are sending required address confirmation. When the recipient is adding or confirmation their address on the page below, they will be prevented from typing a PO box address in Address Line 1 and 2.

💡 What we recommend:

• Send a gift with address confirmation - This way, the recipient can correct their address if it's a PO Box.
• Review and update the address data in your CRM - For triggered campaigns, or if you are choosing a contact from a CRM integration, there could be addresses that have PO boxes. Please ensure you review the address data in your CRM so you don't end up with pending gifts. 

2. We only send bundle campaigns and stock shipments to countries our warehouse can ship to.

When sending a bundle campaign, you can also click on the campaign name to open a modal where you can see the countries the bundle can be sent to:

If you try to send a bundle campaign to a country the warehouse cannot ship to, we will prevent this from happening, and offer you other gift suggestions.

When sending a stock shipment, the countries available will depend on the warehouse you select.

3. We only send marketplace campaigns to countries our vendors can ship to.

We have vendors in different countries in the world and it is based on their shipping availability whether the gift can be sent to a specific country. 

There are many ways you can find where the marketplace gift can be sent to:

• When sending a marketplace campaign, you can click on the campaign name to open a modal where you can see the countries the marketplace gift can be sent to:

• When selecting a marketplace gift, you can also see the countries in the modal when you select the gift name:

If you try to send a marketplace campaign to a country the vendor cannot ship to, we will prevent this from happening, and offer you other gift suggestions.
