Overview
Use the Reachdesk Slack integration to receive gift status notifications directly in Slack. Once the Reachdesk app is installed, it is available for all users in your Reachdesk account.
Before you begin
Email Matching: To receive notifications, your Reachdesk login email must match your Slack email address. If these are different, Slack won't know where to send the updates.
Installation: You only need to install the app once for your entire Reachdesk account.
Permissions: Your Slack Workspace Manager or Owner may need to approve the app before installation can be completed.
Install the Reachdesk App in Slack
1. Start the installation
In Reachdesk, go to Account > Integrations > External Apps.
Click Install on Slack.
2. If Slack approval is required
If you don't have permission to approve apps in Slack, a request screen will appear:
Add a short message for your Slack Workspace Manager.
Click Submit.
Once your manager clicks Approve for Workspace in Slack, you'll receive a Slack notification confirming itβs ready.
3. Complete the installation
Return to Reachdesk and go to Account > Integrations > External Apps.
Click Install on Slack again.
Review the Slack permissions and click Allow.
4. Confirm it's linked
You'll be redirected back to the Integrations page in Reachdesk. The Slack integration should now show as linked, and the button will change to Installed on Slack.

Customize Your Notifications
You can choose exactly which updates you want to see in Slack.
Open the Reachdesk app in Slack.
Go to the Home tab.
Click Update notifications.
Uncheck any statuses you don't want to receive and click Submit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who receives Slack notifications?
The gift sender receives Slack notifications when the campaign status is updated. If a gift is sent on behalf of another user, both the person who physically sent the gift and the user it was sent on behalf of will receive the Slack notification.
Where do notifications appear?
Notifications appear under Apps in your Slack sidebar, specifically within the Reachdesk app.
If you don't see the app immediately, don't worry! It appears when:
You receive your first gift status notification.
OR, you click Add apps in Slack and search for "Reachdesk."
Whatβs included in a notification?
Each notification gives you the key details at a glance:
Recipient name and company
Campaign name
Sent from
Gift cost and the final gift chosen (for Marketplace)
You can then click Review gift to open the specific Send in Reachdesk, and send a perfectly timed follow-up message.
Will installing the app sync my old gift statuses?
No. The integration only syncs new status changes that happen after the app is installed.
How do I uninstall the app?
Only a Slack Workspace Owner can remove the app. They can do this by going to the Reachdesk app page in Slack and clicking Remove app.
Can I send Reachdesk notifications to a specific Slack channel?
We don't support this yet, but it is in our plans to release this enhancement later!
Can I install Slack in more than one Reachdesk account?
